Regeneration

Peptides that support connective tissue, vascular and gut repair.

Focus pathways

01 / Overview

Regenerative research follows the healing dynamics of acute and chronic tissue injury: tendons, ligaments, cartilage, skin, vasculature and gut mucosa. In animal models, peptides have been observed to accelerate vascularisation and epithelialisation, and to shift inflammation from injury to remodeling. Studies combine histology, tensile strength and biomarker read-outs.

Mechanisms, models and directions

Tendon and ligament repair

BPC-157 is a stable fragment isolated from gastric juice. In rodent models it accelerates tendon-to-bone and ligament-to-bone integration, with a mechanism involving VEGFR-2 driven angiogenesis and growth factor expression. Endpoints include tensile strength, collagen I/III ratio and neovessel density.

T · 02R-02

Gut mucosa and inflammation

In induced colitis models, BPC-157 class molecules have been shown to lower ulcer scores and restore tight junction protein expression (ZO-1, Claudin-1). Research directions include synergy with conventional anti-inflammatories, dosing windows and restoration of gastrointestinal blood flow.

Skin and copper-dependent repair

GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide (Gly-His-Lys). In skin models it upregulates more than four thousand genes tied to repair, including collagen synthesis, SOD and MMP balance. Research directions include chronic wound healing and photoaging repair models.
